Home Party Plan Businesses

If you go into a home party plan like that of Mary Kay, Avon or Arbonne you should know some basic things about the business.

One – Don’t believe your uplines when they tell you, “this is not sales, you are just sharing the product.”  It absolutely is sales! If you take money for a product or service that is sales!   Get used to the fact that YOU ARE in the sales business.

Also, please stop bothering everybody within 3 feet of you, they are not good prospects.  Most of the time these people are terrified you are trying to steal their wallets or their identities, please for goodness sake, leave these people alone.

How about, “you can start your own business for as little as $125!”   Technically this is true.

But truly, do you believe that you can start a successful business with just $125 and smile on your face? It takes money to run a business and don’t let anybody tell you differently. Too many people come into this business beause it was inexpensive to start and really thought all they needed was their starter kit and the money would start rolling in. It doesn’t happen that way! You know the old saying, “It takes money to make money,” Well it is true.

Uplines always love this line, “share the opportunity with everyone you meet and they will want it!”  Have you ever asked yourself WHY?

Why, in heavens name would everybody want this opportunity? Some people are perfectly happy with their jobs. Some people have absolutely no desire to own their own business. Besides, you don’t want to share this opportunity with EVERYONE.

Can you see an employer offering eveyone they see a chance to be on their team? How well would that work out for that employer? It takes someone who cares about others, will take the time to truly be of service to their clients, someone who will study and know the product they are selling. Someone who will treat others as they would want others to treat them, someone who will be a team player and be supportive to other consultants in the same line of work as them.

 Home Party Plan Businesses.

Starting a Mary Kay, Avon, or Arbonne business is easy and a fun way to get out and meet people, but, make no mistake about it, they are a business.  If you do not treat it like a business you will fail.  The lure of most Home Party Plan Businesses, is simple; they are cheap to start and most people are already using the products and love them, so, they figure why not sell them and make some extra money.

If it is such an easy business to start and inexpensive, why is that most people do not stay in these businesses very long?  That will be the focus of this blog.  Is it really that hard to make it in the multi level marketing business, or is there an easier way to grow your business?

95% of network marketers will give up on their dreams in the first year of starting their business!

Many will quit in just three months. Why?

Most new independent beauty consultants are excited and terrified when they sign their initial contract. Three months later, the excitement is gone, replaced by the knowledge that the product does not actually sell itself, as they have been told. Within their first year, they give up altogether.

Many reasons are given to explain why a person gives up on themselves and their dreams so quickly. The reason I have heard most often for why people give up on their dreams so quickly, is “I couldn’t make money fast enough, or, I thought it was going to be easier.”

They thought they were going to get into this and it was going to be so easy. Someone told them, you don’t have to sell, just share with people our opportunity and they will want it. Unfortunately many believe this line and it is simply not true.

They are told about million dollar yearly commission made by some. While this is true, those making that commission did’t sit on their laurels waiting for the product to sell itself. I will explore many different options here to help you achieve success in your own Home Party Plan Business or network marketing business.

First lesson:  Don’t rely totally on your upline for information to make your business grow.  Your upline will tell you, “Why reinvent the wheel,” or “It has worked for 50 years now, stick with what works.” Honey, it’s not working!!  That is why the failure rate of most multi level marketing businesses is so high.  Hopefully others will post here telling of their successes and well as failures so we can all learn from them.
